Bio

Research Interests

My research bridges social, clinical, cognitive, neuroscience, and environmental approaches to psychology, to understand how physical environments and self-regulation intertwine to improve wellbeing and bolster social connection. I am interested in research questions such as:
  • How do our everyday surroundings and social contexts influence emotion regulation and wellbeing?
  • How do natural environments influence affective and cognitive processing for individuals and dyads?
  • Can we target self-referential processing to reduce rumination in people with depression or anxiety?
My lab uses behavioral, experience sampling/ecological momentary assessment, and psychophysiological (e.g., EEG, ECG) methods.

Topics of interest

Physical environments, emotion regulation, benefits of natural spaces, wellbeing
