DR. LAURA KING to present on Friday, February 22 , 2019 in Lago W262 at 12 Noon
Title of Presentation: Meaning in Life: The Role of Worldviews in a Cornerstone of Well-Being.
Dr. King is a Curators’ Distinguished Professor in the social and personality program at the University of Missouri. Her presentation will focus on the meaning in life: Meaning in life is widely recognized as a cornerstone of well-being with important implications for psychological and physical health. Research shows that this vaunted experience can emerge from unexpected sources, such as being in a pretty good mood or engaging in routine behavior. In this talk, I will review this research and then share new data on the association between meaning in life and authoritarian worldviews and the potential causal influence of authoritarian values in the experience of meaning in life. More information about Dr. King’s research may be found at here.
