Psychology Computer Lab (2320 Lagomarcino Hall) Open Hours

USB keys and other lost items with be held in the psychology computer support office (0347 Lagomarcino Hall) for one semester.

Printing is currently free for graduate students in the computer lab.

Computer Classrooms

The Psychology department has several classrooms with laptop carts that are funded by the College of Liberal Arts and Science at Iowa State University to serve the computational needs of the student body in general, but particularly those students enrolled in psychology classes. The laptop carts are secured in classrooms and room reservation for classes can be checked by instructors by using the University calendaring system or calling the psychology main office (294-1742).

Equipment Reservations

The psychology department has 8 laptops funded by the College of Liberal Arts and Science at Iowa State University to serve the computational needs of the student body in general, but particularly those students associated with the psychology department. The laptops are located in the Psychology computer support office (0347 Lago) and can be reserved for short periods of time. The laptops have the standard lab software on them for classwork (Office, SPSS, SAS, etc.).

Requesting IT Support

To request help, please submit a ticket by emailing psych-tech@iastate.edu.  Alternatively, you may use ServiceNow and assign the ticket to “LAS Psych IT.”

If applicable, please include your device service tag, office locations, time and date available, and a brief description of the isssue.

Walk-ins at Lago 0347 are welcome, and the IT staff will create a ticket for the issue.

Software

The Psychology department utilizes a wide variety of computational equipment and software packages. The department has several software packages that are site licensed for use on only department computers. Below is a list of the generally installed software packages that are being used and is certainly not exhaustive. Personal computers are generally not allowed to install Institutional or site licensed software. Several packages have student versions which are deployed in our public labs and are not meant for research. If you would like full versions installed on an office research computer a full license must be purchased.
