Graduate students in psychology have created an outreach panel called Psychology in Everyday Life. The goal is to have discussions about psychological topics and mental health support in the community.  The upcoming panel is titled “Brain Meets Mind: The Psychology of Mindfulness, Aging, & Neurodegenerative Diseases.” Panelists will use findings from cognitive psychology and neuroscience to discuss neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, and how protective factors such as yoga, mindfulness, creativity, and nutrition can help prevent these diseases and contribute to healthy aging. Please visit the Facebook event. The event will be held at the Ames Public Library on Monday, February 10th at 7:00 pm.
