My research focuses on how people define themselves and the consequences of self-definition for thinking, feeling, and behaving. Currently, my research integrates three domains of inquiry:
The nature and function of self-construal, particularly relational self-construal
Close relationships
Cultural psychology, with special interests in E. Asia and Turkey
